Telescopic Bulk Loader - December 2008
Utilisation of group resources for the R&D of bulk materials handling products has always been one of the strengths of the Tiverton based Rotolok Group. The most recent and exhaustive development has been centred around the testing and manufacture of a Telescopic Bulk Loader.
In the development programme Rotolok have called on 8 years experience from AMD Rotolok, it's Johannesburg based South African subsidiary, who have supplied automated and semi automated Telescopic Bulk Loaders to the Iron & Steel, Cement and Quarrying sectors throughout South Africa and sub Saharan Africa. All the units operate in harsh and sometimes environmentally demanding locations and naturally they meet the need for robustness, durability, ease of service and importantly, control of dust.
The Rotolok designers have incorporated all the attributes of the AMD Rotolok equipment but have also ensured that the unit complies with both European and USA legislation as well as the requisite operating standards.
One key area of design change from the AMD Rotolok unit, which highlights the versatility of the Rotolok Telescopic Bulk Loader, is with the inlet body where a number of new features have been included, which provides for a robust, compact design with some of the following benefits:
- Small unit footprint, allowing excellent retrofit capability.
- Dual horizontal pulley set, which minimises bearing wear.
- Good access for servicing.
- Unique, 2 Wire cable winding system, suitable for heavy duty applications.
- Proven control of dust to suit environmentally sensitive applications.
- The Rotolok Telescopic Bulk Loader is manufactured in the UK at its Tiverton and Blaenavon production units and listed below are a small number of the equipment options available from an extensive array of proven, established product additions.
- Inlet Diameters - 200, 250 and 300mm.
- Feed rate - Up to 250m3/hr depending on material characteristics.
- Construction - Mild steel or stainless steel.
- Available Stroke - Minimum 1000mm. Maximum 3000mm.
However, the tradition of Rotolok is to manufacture what industry needs and special design requirements will always be carefully considered.
